Yesterday morning, March 5, at dawn, National Geographic Channel and a team of scientists, engineers, and two world-class balloon pilots successfully launched a 16’ X 16’ house 18’ tall with 300 8’ coloured weather balloons from a private airfield east of Los Angeles, and set a new world record for the largest balloon cluster flight ever attempted. The entire experimental aircraft was more than 10 stories high, reached an altitude of over 10,000 feet, and flew for approximately one hour.

Day 8: A song that reminds me of my “first love”
Well I don’t really have a “first love”- so I’ll just stick a cutesy love song here…
“Love Story” - Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is growing on me a little… lol. But seriously I’m a hopeless romantic and when I saw this music video I was like OH MY GOD!!!!!!
I really love the scenery and costume and her HAIR!!!!
But yeah. I love the idea of love, but I haven’t quite achieved any form of it yet. I’m not sure if I’m trying to protect myself from something that could hurt me, or if I’m picky, or if I seriously can’t find anyone I’m attracted to? I don’t know lol.
I really wish my curls were like Taylor Swifts hair though.

Day 7: A song that reminds you of your past summer
“Graduation” - Vitamin C
This might be a cop out answer, but I graduated last summer, and as with every graduation since this song’s release (graduation from middle school and high school, etc). This song is always what I think of. It was another time of change and transition in my life. I came back home, I work a part time job, and I don’t go to school anymore (first time since Kindergarten!). So yeah. I’m thinking, what are we all going to do now? We have to be adults and find something to do for the rest of our lives.
I hope that I’ll be able to keep in touch and occasionally reconnect with all the people I’ve met in school because I love you all!
But yeah.

Day 6: A Song that Reminds You of a Best Friend
“Lightning Crashes” by Live
This one was hard because my best friend while growing up was a huge influence on me, especially musically. I had never really been exposed to American music before I met her because my parents listened to Korean music. She was constantly sharing new music with me and while my tastes have changed a lot since then, she definitely exposed me to a lot of other artists.
I actually never saw the music video until now for the first time (creepy). I was first introduced to this song maybe around middle school or early high school, and I remember she requested this song by calling into radio stations.
It definitely reminds me of her because I find it like an important milestone in my “musical discovery”. I think it was the first time I had ever really paid attention to the lyrics of any song.
And it was a choice between this song or a song by Enrique Iglesias (because of a funny story behind it) but I thought maybe that would be too embarrassing, especially after my last song… LoL.
There were so many songs I could have chosen for this topic =)
